NOTE: Strobilanthes neoasper is an orthographic variant of Strobilanthes neoaspera. This was determined when the species was properly named and described by botanists Venu and P. Daniel in their book, Strobilanthes Blume (Acanthaceae) in Peninsular India, published in 2007.
